Delp/Thomas Wedding

After careful consideration, I have decided it would just be much
easier to close this community and just make my wedding plans on my
personal journal at

Hope you all will still read and keep in touch! Sorry about the inconvenience. Take care, and keep reading.

centerpieces and tossing bouquet [Nov. 8th, 2005|02:44 am]
Delp/Thomas Wedding

[mood |sleepysleepy]
[music |the quiet, because it's late, and i'm about to go to bed :)]

My Grandmother and I were debating on what to use as centerpieces at the reception. At first, we thought potted plants would be nice, but then realized just how much that would cost. If anyone who has ever been to The Exchange, then you know that it is really pretty in there with all the white table cloths- why not just do some sort of minimal centerpiece? A pretty single bloom in a crystal vase with a small, lit tealight to the side of the vase? Well, I went to Wal-Mart today and found some really nice vases for under $2 a piece with some tealight/votive holders for $.55 each. Way cheaper than $10 each for potted plants :(. I also got my tossing bouquet today :) Purple and white oriental lillies:)  <Lots of pictures, Here you go!!Collapse )

to walk in? [Sep. 27th, 2005|11:50 pm]
Delp/Thomas Wedding

[mood |chipperchipper]
[music |"Something More" by Sugarland]

Okay, so I don't really like the wedding march, and I had some great ideas.

I'm strongly considering walking in to either "Moonlight Sonata" or maybe the instrumental version of the Romeo and Juliet Theme "Kissing You". Problem is, I can't decide which one.

And the first dance- "God Blessed the Broken Road" by Rascal Flats, or "Making Memories of Us" by Keith Urban? Again, can't decide. grrr.

Ideas, anyone?

One Thing Done, many to go!!! [Aug. 22nd, 2005|09:25 am]

[mood |busy]
[music |TV- Golden Girls]

Well, we've got our locations nailed down!

It looks as though we are getting married at 11:00 A.M at First Presbyterian Church in Asheboro, with a 12:15 reception to follow at The Exchange.

I'm doing well. I've got the dress, the ceremony and reception locations taken care of. It's early, yes, but I'm going to have time to do my homework, graduation stuff, and grad school stuff, AND plan the wedding. I'm gonna be a busy girl, but I've eliminated a lot of my stress already!

Well, I'm out. I will keep you guys posted.

castle mcculloch tour [Aug. 13th, 2005|07:22 pm]
Delp/Thomas Wedding

[mood |boredbored]
[music |complete silence. someone make some noise.]

Mom, Jason's mom, Jason, and I toured Castle McCulloch yesterday. It wasn't really what I expected. At all. And what I wanted to do there would have cost me close to $5000 dollars. My wedding budget is set at $6,000 for Pete's Sake! grrr.

We realized that we have membership ties to three churches here in Asheboro- my mother and I are both members at First Baptist Church, Jason's parents are members at First Presbyterian, and Jason is a member at Central United Methodist. All three churches will seat more than enough people, and they are all three very pretty. Now, our only dilemma is "which church?"

So far, we are leaning more toward First Persbyterian, and are looking to have a reception at either Asheboro Country Club, or The Exchange. We don't have a huge room rental fee to worry about anymore, so we can spend more money on other things.

I have a meeting at both reception halls this coming week, and I will let you know what I think and decide.

save the dates [Jul. 16th, 2005|11:04 pm]

[mood |cheerfulcheerful]
[music |TV- Comedy Central]

We ordered our Save the Date magnets this past week because they were on sale.

We ordered 3 different designs, but I only have a picture of one design. We were able to get 150 magnets for under $50.00, a steal, compared to most other places I looked. Especially Magnet Street Weddings- $250.00 for the crazy things.

Well, here's the one pic. I do have of one of the designs. Let me know what you think.Collapse )

wedding date [Jun. 23rd, 2005|03:55 pm]

[mood |cheerfulcheerful]
[music |John Mayer, "83]

Today, Jason and I set our wedding date. We have chosen July 14, 2007. Jason will have graduated two months prior, so his college will be out of the way, and the date is not on or near anyone's birthday.

We have yet to choose our location, but we are getting there. We have an appointment on Friday, August 12 to go look at Castle McCulloch, and I have made some phone calls to my church.

We're getting there. I have also already ordered my dress.

Our plans are taking off, and I couldn't be happier or more excited. This is starting to feel more real.

i like this dress even better than the other one [Jun. 8th, 2005|12:57 am]
Delp/Thomas Wedding

[mood |chipperchipper]
[music |TV- Nanny]

such an eventful day...

after i finished my mountain of homework, i got the bright idea to go back to the bridal shop and try on some dresses, because i was bored.

so i did.

i've found my dress, and it is now on layaway! i've also chosen a gorgeous veil, which i unfortunately don't have a picture of. when i get one, i will let you guys see it.

it's going to be a busy 18 months, folks. i'm going to be like nobu-
you'll have to book me 2 years in advance if you wanna see me.

i realized i'll be planning a wedding, preparing to graduate (august 06), and trying to get my applications turned in, and all my ducks in a row for grad school. i'll also be
working, and looking for a job.

so i figure knocking out the dress shopping and price checking, and
booking some vendors will help me out in the "pressed for time"

and stretching out the planning process helps too.

pictures of this wonderful dressCollapse )

father/daughter dance [Mar. 16th, 2005|01:33 am]
Delp/Thomas Wedding

[mood |ecstaticecstatic]
[music |see above]

originally written Mar 14, 2005

so i stumbled across this great song by martina mcbride that would make one heck of a father/daughter reception dance. it's called "in my daughter's eyes", and i think it would be perfect. i just happened to be listening to it on cmt, and got the idea. well, tell me what you think.

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes
